About

B. Bryan Post is one of America’s Foremost Child Behavior Experts. Founder and CEO of the Post Institute for Family-Centered Therapy. The Post Institute specializes in working with adults, children and families who struggle with issues related to early life trauma and the impact of trauma on the development of the mind body system. A renowned clinician, lecturer, and author of numerous books, video, and audio programs, Bryan has traveled throughout the world providing expert treatment and consultation to a variety of groups. An internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disturbance in adults, children and families, he specializes in a holistic family-based treatment approach that addresses the underlying interactive dynamics of the entire family, a neurophysiologic process he refers to as, “The secret life of the family.” Post contends that these same dynamics become obvious and are visibly apparent in every relationship.

He holds three degrees in the field of social work: a Bachelors of Social Work degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma; a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington; and a Doctoral degree in Social Work from Columbus University School of Public Administration.

A maverick in the mental health field, Bryan broke from traditional teachings in the late 1990s and developed a dynamic theoretical model of human behavior which he coined the Stress Model. When fully understood and applied to nearly any situation the stress model can reveal underlying unconscious expressive states which can transform relationship dynamics. From the Stress Model theory he has gone on to develop both Family-Centered Regulatory Parenting and Regulatory Therapy which both have been taught at the university level, garnering Post international recognition. Of noted interest is also the fact that he has woven his therapy model into breakthrough educational experiences that are referred to as POST Camps for adults, parents, and therapists. These rapid results programs have been changing the lives of struggling adults, parents, and families for the past several years.

The family-centered principles and concepts offered by Bryan Post have been taught to more than 35,000 parents and professionals with a 98% excellence rating.

Now retired as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Bryan continues to spread his loved based parenting message through his lecturing and monthly journaling via his rapidly growing parenting membership www.postinnercircle.com.

He lives with his family in Oklahoma.

Well, I have to say that I looked at the End of Adoption with an open mind and I agree with most of it. However, I did not agree with the comments about social workers being well meaning or the advice that you claimed that social workers give. ( I have to say that was a slick marketing ploy for your institute which I am sure recieves some government money to stay afloat or charges the hell out of the poor adopters for your expertise) I work at a local authority in England where you Bryan have been asked to present and train social workers. We continuously bring in ‘gurus’ such as yourself to educate us in the finer points of adoption psychology which many times is very useful training and benefits us immensely. I have many colleagues who care very deeply for the families and children that we serve. We have recieved outstanding comments from parents and from our inspectors. So, I am sure you will understand when I take offense at your comments regarding social workers as I thought we were all working together to help families and children.

Your comments are appreciated, and in fact very right on. And in some cases, not applicable to all. No, we do not receive any government money. And although some of our services are priced high, other are priced low. Some things we give away, loan or donate to those who need and cannot afford. Charging the hell out of the poor adopters, well, I sure hope not. We do offer a 100% Peace of Mind guarantee on our products. That is more than most offer. But this was not about us, but about the many well meaning, sincere, loving, caring, often underpaid workers who try to do the best for their families as possible. And those we applaud. I do apologize if you felt like these were the target. No. Those who don’t do the best, know who they are. And yes, we are all working to help families and children – together or alone. Thank you for doing the great work that you do.
